B2B database size and market coverage by company size
- Reader Note:
- The full table falls steadily: 64.3% coverage for companies with 1-10 employees, 27.0% for 11-50, 11.8% for 51-200, 6.0% for 201-500, 3.7% for 501-1,000, 1.3% for 1,001-5,000, 0.7% for 5,001-10,000 and 0.3% for 10,001+. The number of contacts held per company moves the other way, from 4 to 81, so databases hold more names at a large company and a far smaller share of the people in it. The report does not say which databases were measured or how a contactable person was counted. Sopro sells B2B prospecting services, so it has an interest in third-party coverage looking thin.
- Evidence:
- Observed behaviour
- Vendor interest:
- High — This comes from a company with a commercial interest in this market, so it is not a neutral source.
- Sample:
- Survey: 442 senior B2B decision-makers (self-reported). Also draws on ~126M emails / 25M multichannel touchpoints and a 650,000-email 2025 send corpus for the message-pattern analysis, plus 2025 campaign benchmark data (lead rates by company size/industry).
Good for
Comparing yourself against a similar segment, and choosing what to test next.
Not for
- Saying that one thing caused another, or predicting what you would get.
- This comes from a company with a commercial interest in this market, so it is not a neutral source.
- The source never says how this number was measured.
- The source says how much it looked at, but not how any of it was chosen.
